This metronome app is created by a musician for musicians. Almost all metronome apps boast about their accuracy, but users with sensitive hearing notice inaccurate beats all the time. It used to be impossible to create a perfectly accurate metronome on a mobile device. Despite the failure of other apps, perfect time is possible for TrueMetronome: its unique engine creates perfect beats with ABSOLUTE ZERO error. For this reason, TrueMetronome is the most accurate metronome app on any mobile platform.

Sound quality is the second issue for software metronomes. Serious musicians prefer a natural sound filled with overtones, but all metronome apps play short synthetic samples (so that the first sound stops completely before the next begins). Thus, you hear an artificial, dead sound. Moreover, the identical samples playing at the same frequency can drive any man crazy! TrueMetronome solves this problem thoroughly: all sounds are recorded from real metronomes, a beat does not affect the gradual decay of its predecessors, and each beats sound is a little different from the others. All this contributes to the natural sound which is easier on your ears.

Finally, an aesthetic, thoughtful interface is an important aspect of any application, and TrueMetronome pays particular attention to it. Creating an electronic metronome interface is simple, but TrueMetronome does not cut corners: it recreates the look and feel of a real mechanical metronome; every mark on the scale is labeled with a tempo mark, the deviation angle of the pendulum depends on the tempo, and the tempo is selected by dragging the weight.

You can adjust the tempo in 2 BPM (beats per minute) increments by dragging the digital weight. This restriction prevents a change of tempo from accidental touches, and when you need greater precision in the selection of the tempo, there are "+" and "-" buttons as well. On the lower part of the metronome, you can turn the bell on and off and select the number of beats per measure.

To start or to stop the beats, simply tap anywhere.

Pros and cons of TrueMetronome app for iPhone and iPad

TrueMetronome app good for

This metronome app is great! Im so glad it was updated to allow no accent on the down. Makes a major difference for me when working on this huge project of mine. Thank you so much! Its dead on and consistent, unlike all the other metronome app out there, and yeah, Ive tried them all.
I really enjoy using this metronome. I have a problem with timing when Im learning a piece so Im glad I found this. It makes using a metronome fun.
Over the corse of my music making life, Ive learned to play the piano, I learned all the notes, perfected some songs and preformed numerous times. The one thing I actually had lots of trouble with was timing, then one day I was surfing the internet on my iPod touch and found the app "true metronome" I downloaded the app and it has helped me in so many ways! On the other hand it took me a while to understand all of its utilities, going back to my first point, I recommend this app to any musician or people who like random ticking!

Some bad moments

This metronome is amazing, looks beautiful and functionality is perfect. I can adjust the tempo easily and the tone is easy to hear when I am practicing my flute or piano. This is just like the $50 metronomes you can buy at the store, so save your money by getting this app.
I currently have Metronome+ and have not noticed any accuracy issues this app alleges others have. Any metronome app should be based on the mobile devices built-in timer, which also runs the devices clock, and is more accurate than any mechanical metronome, so I reject this claim from the developer, unless an app is so CPU-intensive that it causes the device to be "laggy," which I doubt. Additionally, Metronome+ supports accent beats, subdivisions, multiple meters, and multiple beat sounds. TrueMetronome has a single beat and accent sound. But it is free, and Metronome+ is $1.99. For a free app, its fine, but when the price goes back up, dont believe their claims that this app is somehow superior - there are definitely more capable apps out there.
Hard to believe those good reviews when theres NO SOUND !!! Duh! WTH??
the app is just ok as a free app. 2 major problems. No sound if the phone is muted. No sound if connected to dock. Please add more feature and fix those problems
Metronome itself is good. Sound needs to be stereo (its mono now, so it doesnt work on speakers).
This is a very well made app. Sound is still clearly audible over the loudest of my instruments. Guys who complain about no sound: turn your ringer off mute. Youre welcome.
